Sarah & Patrick's Eclectic Woodsy Wedding

Sarah cannot help but talk about fate when describing her relationship with Patrick. They grew up in the same neighborhood and attended the same high school, but were none the wiser to the connection they would grow to have. It was not until years later, after Sarah mustered up the courage to send Patrick a message on Facebook, did sparks fly. At the time, they were living in different parts of the country, relying on all day texting and late night Skype dates to keep in touch. After months of visiting one another, Patrick asked her to move to North Carolina with him. While scared to leave her mom and her home, Sarah was ready to start a new chapter of their love story.

Jade & Paul's Sentimental Gothic Restoration Wedding

Paul and Jade met at a party in Manchester. Although there was an instant connection between the two, both were seeing other people. They swapped numbers and chatted online for months, until the time was finally right. For their first date, Jade traveled back down to visit Paul for a Smiths tour of Manchester, hitting all the stops: Morrissey’s family home, Salford Lads Club, even the Iron Bridge from the song ‘Still Ill.’

Their engagement was just as sweet and personal as their first date, with Paul booking a much-needed getaway for the couple in the Scottish Highlands. After an intimate day of champagne and rum (and the star attraction - a hot tub!), Jade sat on the sofa with her hair in a towel and no makeup on.

Paul chose this perfect, relaxed moment to get down on one knee. “Jade - I love you, you’re my best friend,” he said. “Will you marry me?”

Michelle & John's Route 66 Cabin Celebration

Kaitlyn & Ryan's Eclectic Celestial Union

Wedding bells rang out for Kaitlyn and Ryan on a balmy summer day in the heart of St. Louis, Mo. The heat index was 106 degrees Fahrenheit, but the steamy temperatures did not bother this young couple in love. They married on June 16, 2018 in a large rooftop ceremony officiated by Kaitlyn's aunt.

Kaityln and Ryan, who originally met on OkCupid, felt an instant attraction when they went for their first date at a Starbucks. They stayed until the place closed and then retreated to Ryan's car to continue "talking about anything and everything," said Kaitlyn. Two years later, Ryan proposed in Chicago, Ill. on their second anniversary. He originally planned on proposing during sunset on the beach alongside Lake Michigan, but in his nervousness he forgot that the sun actually set over the other side of the city. With some quick-thinking he tweaked his plans and proposed instead on the iconic Navy Pier Ferris Wheel. He was a tad flustered and forgot to kneel, but Kaitlyn knew it was fate because it was a long-time dream of hers to have a proposal on a Ferris Wheel. Ryan had no idea.  This couple was just meant to be.

Kelsey & Nigel's Historic Small Town Service

Kelsey and Nigel were married October 14th, 2017 in the small town of Willard, Mo. near their home in Springfield, Mo. The Midwestern couple met online, via the fabled OKCupid, in May of 2013, shortly before the Tinder revolution. Nigel ended up being the first (and only) date that Kelsey needed. They got together for dinner at a burrito place and talked for over three hours, closing the place down.

Nigel proposed three years later at a local dive bar where he was performing with his band during an open mic night. It was a blustery January night, but that did not keep away their good friends who got a "tip" and came out to the Monday show, some even driving in from three hours away. Kelsey was in the dark about his plan and, in fact, had recently complained to one of their friends that Nigel had not proposed yet. His band started their set with "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World and then transitioned into "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. Nigel proposed at the end and the crowd went crazy. "It was like a movie," remarked Kelsey. A week later, the couple put an offer in on their house and started planning for their big day.

Britney & Mike's Halloween Ceremony

Britney and Mike were married in an intimate ceremony in their backyard on October 15th, 2016. Their backyard, affectionately nicknamed "The Haunted Woods," made perfect sense for a venue because they did not want to go overboard with spending and they really wanted to keep the day low-key with just their closest friends and family in attendance.

They decided on their backyard for the ceremony and reception space because they love the seclusion and the big ol' trees. It is beautiful and spooky all in one and it was perfect for a Halloween-themed wedding, which is their favorite holiday.

Fat Bride Demands Normal Shopping Experience

When it came to my wedding, all I’ve ever dreamed about was being a normal bride. I wanted every experience that all other brides got to have. I wanted an engagement party, a shower, a bachelorette party, unique rings, and most of all: a wedding dress that wowed.

The world of plus size clothes shopping has always been more of a vicious hunt than a relaxing pass time. While there are a handful of stores that offer stylish casual clothing in my size, (US 30,) they are all exclusively online. When I say that I wanted to be a normal bride, I mean for everything. I was adamant that I needed to go to a physical bridal shop with my mom and a few close friends and try on several dresses. I wanted to hear their “oohs” and “ahhs” and see how these expensive dresses looked over my many rolls and curves.

Jane & Jordan's Southern Bohemian Wedding

Jane & Jordan were married in Newnan, Georgia on Saturday, November 18th. They met, like true millennials, on Tinder and had their first date at a bar near Jane’s house in the Inman Park neighborhood of Atlanta. They drank hoppy IPAs and played darts before going for a long walk in the beautiful (and closed) Oakland Cemetery. As it started to drizzle, they had their first kiss and five months later they were engaged.
